1) SIMPLE PRESENT (presente do indicativo – ações habituais)

 

a)      Plants absorb carbon from the air.

b)      Plants don’t absorb carbon from the air./ It doesn’t absorb carbon. (do/ does + not)

c)      Do you go to school?  (Início com DO ou DOES)

Obs: (3ª pessoa do singular com s)

 

2) SIMPLE PAST (passado do indicativo – ações habituais)

 

Verbos regulares: ed worked, washed, called

 

Verbos irregulares: see (saw),  go (went)   be (was/ were)

 

a) A lion passed by here

b) I didn’t work yesterday (did + not)

c) Did you work yesterday?  (did)

 

3) PRESENT CONTINUOUS  (ação acontecendo)

 

a) Gilberto is singing now.  (am, is, are + ing)

b) He is not singing a Brazilian song.  (am, is, are + not)

c) Is he singing a Brazilian song?

 

4) PAST CONTINUOUS (ação q estava acontecendo no passado quando outra aconteceu)

 

a) The man was walking along the beach.  (were e was{3ª pessoa sing} + ing)

b) The man wasn’t walking along the beach. (were e was + not)

c) Was the man walking along the beach?

 

5) FUTURE

 

Will – (ação não planejada, previsão, pedido)

a)      The future will bring wonderful things.

b)      The future will not (won’t) bring wonderful things.

c)      Who will win the next worl Cup?

 

Going to – (am, is, are + going to) (evidência/ certeza)

a)      I’m going to travel to Belem next year. / I’m going to meet my friends on Saturday.

b)      She isn’t going to order the goods.

c)      Is she going to order the goods?

 

6) PRESENT PERFECT (Ação passada não determinada e ainda acontece hoje)

 

a) I have finished the report. Here it is!   (have ou has + particípio)  

b) The teacher hasn’t proved his theory.    (have ou has + not + particípio) 

c) Has the teacher proved his theory?

 

7) PAST PERFECT (indica a 1ª de duas ações ocorridas no passado)

 

a) I had finished the report when they came.  (had + particípio)

b) I hadn’t  finished the report when they came.  (had + not +  particípio )

c) Had I  finished the report when they came?
